 Greg Gowey, AIA, NCARB

Entering the practice in 1983, Greg Gowey has been a managing principal since 1993. Through his involvement in a wide variety of commissions he has built a substantial clientele for SGGM, and has directed many successful projects. In recent years, he has built notable experience in educational, commercial and residential projects. Continuing clients include Davenport Public Schools, St. Ambrose University, Eastern Iowa Community College, Palmer College of Chiropractic, Iowa-80 Group, and American Bank.

Mr. Gowey is dedicated to his family's interests and has helped his children with their athletic activities as a coach and mentor. His involvement with Davenport Code Board of Appeals, Board Membership on the Davenport Schools Foundation, and his church also help to nurture his professional and private life.

 John Gere, AIA, NCARB

Beginning professional practice in 1969, John Gere has served as a managing principal since 1987. He brings to the SGGM family the legacy of an architectural firm established in 1871. Through that heritage, his dedication to historic building restoration and adaptive reuse has been a natural evolution. He has built substantial experience in projects that provide social, medical, elderly, spiritual, and mental health care to our community. Continuing clients include the City of Davenport, Luther Manor of Scott County, Handicapped Development Center, Iowa Masonic Care Facility, and Salvation Army.

Mr. Gere is an accomplished musician and composer in his private life and has produced several albums of his creations. His time investment on the Davenport Plan & Zoning Commission, Rotary, Arrowhead Ranch Board, and church are an extension of his professional and spiritual life.
